Although not exactly how we planned (meaning not in Mosambique), but at the end of our Africa trip we could spend a couple of fantastic diving days.

Based on recommendations from fellow travellers we found a heavenly spot on the eastern coast of South Africa. It is called Sodwana Bay and is part of the Simangaliso Wetland Park. Sodwana Bay is the perfect place for sport fishing – which is not that interesting for us… – , scuba diving (yeah!!!) and snorkelling. :)

And we are really happy we found this beautiful bay. First of all we had some great dives, saw beautiful reefs abundant in fish, healthy corals and listened to  singing whales . We also had some adrenaline rushes getting into the water in the rather wavy ocean from a rubber raft that launched in high-speed from the beach playing cool, roaring  AC-DC hits. And last, but not least: we met the super nice team of Adventure Mania (a local Dive Center). Thanks again to Amanda and Jacques for their help to get back under water after a break of 2,5 years! Without you probably it would not have worked out… ;)

Highlights from our Dives in Sodwana Bay

We cut a short (3-minute) video of all the numerous wonders we got to see under water. Hope you enjoy it!

(Thank you Colorstar for letting us use this super music – Waterfront)
