We spent the last week in lazy “beach mode”, sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling and reading. Tup Kaek beach, in Krabi – Thailand was the perfect location for spending the days of sweet idleness.

In beautiful Krabi everyone finds the right spot for himself. There are secluded, quiet beaches, with a few resorts, a handful of restaurants, and long, white-sanded waterfronts. And this is what we chose; Tup Kaek Beach was exactly this kind of nice retreat. But if you prefer to have more action, and to be in the middle of happenings, have one restaurant after the other to choose from, dozens of shops per square meter and evening entertainment possibilities, you can book a hotel in one of the small beach towns, like Ao Nang for example. Here for sure it is also easier to find and organize your day trips to nearby islands, elephant safaris or cave trekking.

Day trips from Tup Kaek Beach

We made 2 boat trips during the week by long tail boats. The first one was to Hong Island, which is part of a National Park. The small bay had the perfect white sand, beautiful blue water with snorkeling possibilities, a lagoon with mangroves, and amazing tall cliffs. The second one was not from the “official” tour programs, but offered by our boat driver from the Hong Island trip. He took us to 2 abandoned micro islands, Ko Muaeng and Sa Deng, which both were absolute perfect snorkeling spots. Cristal clear water, hundreds of different colorful fishes, corals, shell fish, sponges and even fan corals. Wonderful experience!

Tup Kaek Beach under water

This time we skipped other programs, enjoyed doing nothing but finished some books, had tasty sea food and slept 8-10 hours on average per day. :)
So it was great to relax, and now we are back in action mode: ready for Vietnam.
