While working on our photos I have realized again how many beautiful people we met during our travels in Southeast Asia in the last months. When I say beautiful I do not really mean the stereotypic European beauty, rather the friendliness, openness, kindness and some overwhelming purity that shines through the eyes of many people. I have captured women, men, children, younger and older people all radiating some kind of harmony, even though many of them seem to live lives that are less than easy according to our terms. Spending 3 days in Singapore after our South-east Asian trip proved to be a very interesting idea. Singapore is everything what Myanmar, Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam are not: extremely well organized, clean, modern and expensive. Read more
After spending 2 weeks in the lush green mountains of Bali we changed to another color: we checked out all shades of BLUE, diving in the Bali Sea. A week at the North coast of Bali and another one on Gili Meno island swimming with fish and turtles, admiring colorful corals and enjoying the feeling of weightlessness in the warm water were the main points on our agenda lately. After a wonderful – but hot – week in Siem Reap we decided to take a break and cool down on the beach. Cambodias´ Koh Rong Samloem Island was the perfect location for this pause.
Siem Reap was very high on our list when deciding which direction to start our travels to. We wanted to see Angkor Wat and the other beautiful temples in the area and immerse into the remainders of the ancient khmer empire. And it proved to be a great choice despite the brutal heat: we have enjoyed every moment of this visit.
The last part of our Vietnam stay was a trip to the Mekong Delta, where we could get a glimpse of the rural life of the country. In this area everything is connected to the waters, and we have tried to explore every bit of it. Read more
As you have probably guessed from our previous posts we enjoyed Vietnam enormously. It is a fantastic country – it exceeded all our expectations. Both of us had travelled a lot before, still we learned and faced so many new things there. Read more
We planned for 2 nights, and in the end spent over a week in Hoi An. The atmosphere of this small town in the middle of Vietnam is so enchanting, we decided to slow down (even further) and enjoy its flair.
